Change 4 Life Partner
Real Baby Milk was begun by breastfeeding Mums who were supported and then became peer supporters in breastfeeding groups. Real Baby Milk has developed a thorough understanding of the important role that groups play in the community to support women and their babies. In Cornwall, funded by the Primary Care Trust, Real Baby Milk runs a Peer Support Network, training programme and support for 30 groups and over 150 volunteers.
Plans to conduct National Survey of Breastfeeding Groups
Real Baby Milk hopes to later survey all the groups to gather information on how they are all doing and to benchmark the types of support available in the UK community.
"With the National Institute for Clinical Excellence recommending peer support for better duration rates of breastfeeidng, we feel there may be a need for a National network of these groups and the first step has to be to learn how they are all doing, what training they have accessed, where they are based"
Support Groups will be receving the Real Baby Milk mailout during breastfeeding awareness week with an invitation to earn funds by receving a 10% commission on all orders placed by their mums with the Frugi website.
